Molly Taylor, who is battling Medulloblastoma - a type of brain tumour, and her family got the news they’d been hoping for last week when Molly’s favourite member of the famous boy band, Niall Horan, said he couldn’t wait to meet her at their Belfast concert.

In a special video message to Molly, he said:

“Hi Molly, it’s Niall here. Can’t wait to see you at the show. I heard you’ve been a very brave girl.

“See you soon,” he said.

Molly was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma last year and, in the months since, she has endured surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

After everything Molly’s been through, her family had desperately tried to get tickets for her to see her absolute idols - One Direction - who are playing the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, in October, but with no luck.

However, a family friend, Philip Johnston stepped in and worked with a radio station to secure tickets for Molly, her mum Lisa and sister Ellie to see them in concert.

He also set up ‘Please help Molly meet one direction in Belfast Oct 2015’ on facebook and the campaign went viral.

After receiving the video, a delighted Philip confirmed on facebook: “It’s official!...He will be looking forward to meeting Molly before or after their concert” and Philip thanked Mark McDonnell “who happened to be in the right place at the right time to help make this happen”.
