Bready Ulster Scots Pipe Band in the prizes

BREADY Ulster Scots Pipe Band under Pipe Major Robert Campbell and Drum Sergeant Martin Campbell travelled to Dumbarton, Scotland on Saturday 22nd May, to take part in the Scottish Championships.

With only two Bands travelling from Northern Ireland and over 20 bands competing in their Grade both managed to secure a place in the prizes with Ballyboley Pipe Band claiming the title of Scottish Champions and Bready Ulster Scots lifting 6th place and a well deserved 2nd place in drumming.

It was the second outing of the season for the Bready outfit and both competitions have seen Bready amongst the prizes.

The band’s Press Officer, Allen Fleming, stated: “The Band is delighted to be in the prizes and to be placed in the first major competition of the season is something that the band are proud of, however it is only the start of the season and as a band we aim to improve each week as we compete at the local championships across Northern Ireland.”

The Bready Drum Corps under Drum Sergeant Martin Campbell, had a very good ‘run’ and secured second place at the Scottish Championships. This is also something that the Drum Corps aims to build on and the highly talented corps will be aiming for a good result this Saturday at the County Fermanagh Championships in Enniskillen.

Anyone interested in joining the band or in becoming a Drum Major or Highland Dancer should contact Allen on 07933477695 for further information.
