Break in at Longstone Street charity shop

Local councillor Pat Catney has described as ‘despicable’ the theft of money and a tablet from a Longstone Street charity shop at the weekend.

Thieves broke into the premises, sometime between 4pm on Saturday, August 23 and 4pm on Monday, August 25.

Mr Catney said, “This is a charity that has lost out because of this theft and so those they are trying to help has also lost out.

Lisburn Response Constable Keith also appealed for information saying: “I would ask anyone who knows anything about this burglary to contact Lisburn Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers.
