Breakfast Club starts at The Model

MONDAY of last week saw the start of a Breakfast Club at the Model.

Miss Linda Chestnut and Ms Lorraine Tweed who are classroom assistants at the school obtained the Food Safety in Catering Award and now on a daily basis provide a healthy option for the children to start their day.

It is hoped that through time the number of children enjoying this facility will continue to grow, as it affords parents the opportunity of leaving their children to school at 8.20 A.M. thus allowing them time to go to their employment without having to rush.

Joshua Hethrington a former pupil, also helps out as he prepares for his Duke of Edinburgh Award. The photographs show the children enjoying their choice of cereal, toast and fruit drink before they start their school day.

From next week the children will be able to relax and enjoy this meal to the accompaniment of background music.
