Breakfast seminar helps businesses in Larne get the best from their bank

LARNE business representatives gathered on Friday for a breakfast seminar at Willowabnk Business Park on the topic of dealing effectively with banks.

Supported by Larne Borough Council and LEDCOM, and delivered by Larne Development Forum, this seminar was the ninth in a series of such free events which have been organised for local businesses since September 2011.

The latest seminar dealt with questions such as how to approach a bank for funding, what sort of information is needed before a meeting with the bank, are banks still lending money to small businesses and how to apply successfully.

The speakers participating - Raymond Robinson of RA Robinson and Co, chartered accountants in Larne and Mark O’Brien of the Bank of Ireland - both had many years experience in this field.

The next seminar in the series is due to be held at Larne Leisure Centre on Friday, June 22, with breakfast included in the Prom Café.

The topic will be Effective Public Relations and the speakers will be Maria McCann of McCann PR and Valerie Martin, editor of the Larne Times.

Local businesses will be provided with a unique opportunity to hear how they can work effectively with the local press and others in achieving positive publicity for their business.
