BREAKING - Man (57) charged over Ballycastle security alert

Police have arrested and charged a 57-year-old man with a number of offences following a security alert at Ballycastle Police Station on 5th March.

He was charged with placing an article causing a bomb hoax, possessing articles for use with petrol bombs and four counts of communicating false information causing a bomb hoax.

The man was remanded in custody and will appear before North Antrim Magistrates Court on Monday 20 April.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
