Breast Cancer Awareness Month

WHEN breast cancer and its treatment overshadow everything, we see the woman underneath.

Breast Cancer Care is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to providing emotional and practical support for anyone affected by breast cancer.

The charity campaign for better support and care and promote the importance of early detection, involving people with breast cancer in all that we do.

In the last year the charity have seen 1.9 milllion people come to their website seeking information or support.

Over 1 million copies of expert reports and publications were downloaded from the website and over 13,000 calls have been made to the helpline.

In addition 4,000 people used Breast Cancer Care’s face-to-face or specialist services.

Over the course of the month the charity are encouraging people to liven up their Friday afternoons by organising a fun pink activity at work, school or at home.

The charity have also organised a Shock Absorber WomenOnly 5k or 10k Run in the beautiful surroundings of Richmond Park to help those living with breast cancer.

As well as this a massive fashion show will be held by the charity in the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane London on Wednesday 3rd October featuring 44 men and women, who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. There is more information on this event available at www.breastcancercare.org.uk/theshow.
