Brian was a true gentleman with a smile for everyone

DROMARA, Dromore and the surrounding area were deeply shocked to learn of the sudden death of Brian Jess at his hom, 7 Howe Road, Ballykeel on February 29, 2012.

Born at Ballykeel on November 19, 1949 he was the son of Ann and the late Alfred, who had two other sons, Eric and Terry, along with four daughters, Mrs Jean Fitzsimmons, Mrs Eileen Dickson, Mrs Freda Murphy and Mrs Hazel Donaldson. Brian went to Drumlough Primary School and later to Dromore High School.

Following this he went to Lisburn Tech and served his time as an electrician and later worked as foreman for the Coal Advisory Service.

Brian met and parried Margaret on April 23 1974 and had a son Mark, born in 1983 and daughter Susann born in 1988. They were blessed last year with their darling granddaughter Grace, with whom Brian spent many happy hours.

He and Margaret enjoyed spending time with them when the children were younger, touring in their caravan. In later years he enjoyed nothing more than spending holidays in Newcastle in the caravan.

Brian was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was well known and respected by young and old as was shown by the large attendance at his funeral, held at Drumlough Presbyterian on March 4. Rev Gareth McFadden officiated while Sharon Jordan was the organist.

Brian was a true gentleman with a smile for everyone.

Donations in lieu of flowers if desired may be sent to John Gamble Funeral Director, 7 Meeting Street, Dromore, BT25 IAQ for NI Chest, Heart and Stroke Association.
