Bright start for students

A programme offering an alternative to university has been outlined to students at Carrickfergus Grammar.

Bill Ricardi from Deloitte Testing Services spoke to Year 14 pupils at the school about the ‘Bright Start’ programme for young people.

The programme allows pupils to start their career immediately upon completing their A-Levels rather than going on to university.

It affords them the opportunity to earn and learn without incurring student debt.

Mr Ricardi discussed the programme, development and training opportunities, qualifications and opportunities in Belfast and beyond.

He emphasised the support that the company provides, including a buddy system and an extensive extra-curricular programme.

Mr Ricardi offered to assist pupils interested in the route with the application process and will be in close contact with the school and parents.
