Bringing Ballycarry community together

BALLYCARRY Community Association is planning a special community day.

The event will be held on the afternoon of Saturday, May 29, and will include a barbecue and teas.

The association has invited all its affiliated groups to have an information stall at which local people can learn more about them and several have already indicated that they wish to have a display at the event.

The special day will mark the 401st anniversary of the foundation of Ballycarry, highlighting the arrival of William Edmonstone in May, 1609.

It is also intended that any funds raised will go towards the Broadisland Gathering festival in September.

Any local groups interested in having a stall should contact Karyn Brown on 9337 2819 in the mornings, or leave a message.

The event will take place between 2.00-5.00pm at the community centre at Fairhill.
