Broken ankle and black eyes suffered in attack

A MAN suffered a broken ankle and another two black eyes after being attacked in the Strand Road area of Londonderry shortly after Christmas.

The PSNI are appealing for information after the man was assaulted on the Strand Road between the Rock Road and Rock Terrace junctions during the early hours of December 27.

The victim made his way towards a filling station on the Strand Road along with two friends but was followed by the assailant and four other males and a further altercation took place.

The victim was left with a broken ankle and one of his friends sustained two black eyes.

Anyone who was in the area between 1.30am and 2am and could help police with their enquiries is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000.
