PRESIDENT, Dorothy Andrews, recently welcomed everyone to the March meeting of Brookfield Women’s Institute.

Speaker, Gwen Gibson, gave what was later described as a very interesting and informative talk on her travels and experiences while working for the BBC and advised how she juggled her professional and family life.

Gwen worked for the BBC for 22 years, during which time she travelled extensively overseas and met many famous people, from a range of local celebrities to Her Majesty the Queen.

The competition for the evening (an all-weather hat) was won by Margaret Montgomery.

The birthday girl was Eleanor Suffren.
