Brothers are on song with new cafe

Brothers Paul and David Murphy from AA Music Pianos, are launching a new and exciting venture on May 2 called ‘The Songbird Cafe’ and have chosen The Ballinderry Inn to host the first night.

“We see a need for a new social hub to showcase local talent in a family friendly environment,” explained Paul.

Singers, songwriters, musicians and other entertainers are invited to come along on the night and show interest in participating in a future event.

“We hope to have theme nights bi-monthly and this one will have singer songwriters doing some of their own material plus covers from the existing greats such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell and Sheryl Crow, amongst others.”

In the line up on the first night will be Paul Murphy, who recently launched his debut album, Aaron Graham, Murphy and Co, Lili Busby and comedy with Noel Mills as Jimmy Hickett.

There will also be time to socialise over tea, coffee and snacks, which are included.

Everyone is invited to just come along on the night when music will start around 7.45pm.

Future themes will include a Blues night with local legend Ronnie Greer, a Latin night and a country and gospel music night, all with a touch of humour thrown in.

There is ample parking provided at the venue.
