Roads Service had called for comments after proposing to place a disabled parking bay in the area.

However at last Thursday night’s meeting of the planning committee, Councillor Paul Frew warned that there is an ongoing neighbourhood dispute that will not be solved by this action.

He said: “This car park was built when people didn’t have three vehicle households. There is a neighbourhood dispute with people in the area and to put a disabled bay in and think that this will solve the issue (is wrong).

“This will compound the issue even further. I believe the council should write to say that there’s a more important issue. They can maybe provide more parking bays in that area.

“I will ask the council to put as much pressure on Roads Service.”

It was agreed that the council would write to Roads Service about the issue.
