Brown family call for boycott of Magherafelt PCSP meeting

The family of Sean Brown, murdered GAA official, have called on officials in the Magherafelt area who sit on the Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) to boycott the next meeting in response to the continuing failure of the PSNI to provide documentation to the coroner.

Representatives from the Pat Finucane Centre (PFC) were in court today with the Brown family, where it was determined that the inquest cannot and will not go ahead in March of this year.

No alternative date has been set.

Paul O’Connor from the PFC said: “The Brown family and PFC feel that we have no alternative but to ask those who sit on the PCSP to show their solidarity with the Brown family and boycott the next PCSP meeting.

“This demonstration will send a message to the PSNI that on-going delay and obfuscation will not be tolerated. The family reserve the right to ask for this boycott to be escalated if the PSNI continue in their failure to cooperate with the coroner.”

Today marked the 24th preliminary hearing in this case.
