‘Buckfast wiped Magherafelt teen’s memory’

Before the court was Jonathan McKay (19), engineering student, of Mullaghboy Heights,

Magherafelt, who was bound over to keep the peace for two years on personal bail of £500.

McKay was also fined £100 with a £15 offender’s levy for resisting police.

Stephen Atherton said defendant had consumed so much Buckfast wine that he had no recollection of events.

He said when McKay had sobered up he apologised to the police for his behaviour.
