Twenty-one year old Emma took part in the Ireland Heat of the RHS Young Chelsea Florist of the Year Competition at CAFRE’s Greenmount Campus last Wednesday, for which she and her fellow competitors had to create a ‘floral cake for an Asian themed wedding’.

Her intricate design for the cake scored top marks and won her a place in the Final, which will be held at the famous Chelsea Flower Show, which takes place in May.

“I feel really grateful for getting through for the second year in a row,” Emma commented. “It’s an amazing opportunity to showcase the types of skills used in floristry and will hopefully encourage others into the industry.”
