Buick Memorial’s 75th anniversary celebrated

AN EXCITING week of celebrations has been planned to mark Buick Memorial Primary School’s 75th anniversary, with pupils, staff, friends and the people of Cullybackey all involved.

On Saturday, June 16, the PTA and staff will be bag packing in Tesco to raise money for a week of celebrations.

Thenon Monday, June 18 a service of celebration will be held in the Cuningham Memorial Presbyterian Church at 7p.m.

On Tuesday an open day is planned in the school.Current pupils and their parents are welcome from 2 - 4p.m. All past pupils, staff and friends are welcome to an Open Evening from 7-9 p.m.

This will be an opportunity to see round the school and the displays of old photographs and memorabilia which will be on show. On Wednesday the pupils will be taking part in a Fancy Dress Competition and a Big Lunch. Thursday will be the Traditional Sports’ Day with the P7 Prom in the evening.

Ther week comes to a close with a Balloon Race on the Friday at 11 a.m, followed by a Summer Fair.

Everyone is welcome to these events. Currently an Anniversary book is being written which will go on sale during the Celebration week.
