The Progressive gave its members an extra incentive to vote at its recent AGM, by making a 20p donation to the charity for every postal vote received and a £1 donation for every online vote returned.

This week, Glengormley man Peter Lyttle from the building society presented Ellen Hillen a cheque for £2,500 for the Children’s Hospice.

Peter said: “This valuable donation will help to provide over 80 hours of hospice care, or 25 nights of care, to children and young people with a life-limited or terminal
illness.

“Every year the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice provides specialist nursing care for 250 children and young people with a life-limited or terminal illness and supports their
families.

“There are more than 600 life-limited children and young people in Northern Ireland who need the specialist care that only the Children’s Hospice can provide, so the need is great.

“With these funds the charity can continue to provide support and make a real difference to these very special children and young people and their parents and
carers.”
