Burglars hit Lower Violet St at Christmas

Burglars stole money from a house in the Chapel Road area and tried to break into another house in the same street over the Christmas weekend.

Constable McGuinness, the investigating officer, said that on Monday afternoon (Decmber 28) a woman returned to her home at Lower Violet Street to find it had been broken into.

A sum of money was stolen. The incident is thought to have occurred after 7.30pm on Sunday, December 27.

Meanwhile, also over the weekend, an attempt was made to break into another house in the street.
