Burglary, criminal damage and drugs at airport

THE PSNI recorded a total of 11 crimes at City of Derry Airport over the course of the last three years, new figures reveal.

In the past year alone, police received reports of a burglary, another two theft offences and reports of a public order offence, all having taken place at City of Derry Airport in 2011/12.

The previous year, one drugs offence was reported to police and one theft offence was also reported to the PSNI.

In 2009/10, there was one report of “criminal damage and arson”, three thefts and one crime recorded by the PSNI as “other.”

The figures were released by police in response to a Freedom of Information request, which asked for a breakdown of all crimes occurring at Northern Ireland’s three airports over the course of the past three years.
