Bus collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 11am on Saturday June 11 on the Loughareema Road between Ballyvoy and Cushendun.

The accident involved a white box van and a southern registered bus. Police believe the drivers of two tractors and a car may have witnessed the accident. Any witnessess to contact police at Ballycastle on 08456008000.Copper stolen

OVER night on 13th/14th June, a vacant property which is under renovation was broken into at Causeway Road, Bushmills. A Stihl saw, a wheel barrow and the copper cylinder water tank were stolen.

And at approximately 2am on Wednesday 15th June, a business premises was broken into at Causeway Road, Bushmills. Items were disturbed but nothing believed stolen.

Man arrested

On Wednesday 15th June a 19-year-old Bushmills man was arrested on a bench warrant. He appeared before North Antrim Magistrates’ Court and received a deferred sentence, police said.

Man (29) arrested

On Wednesday 15th June, a 29-year-old Ballycastle man was arrested on a bench warrant and money warrants. He appeared before North Antrim Magistrates’ Court and was released on bail, police said.Church theft

On Thursday 16th June it was reported to police that a protective sheet was stolen from a window at a building belonging to Holy Trinity Church, The Diamond, Ballycastle. Police are appealing for information on 08456008000 or phone Crimestoppers 0800555111.

Theft attempt

On Friday 17th June police received a report that an attempt had been made to steal diesel at the St. Aloysius School site, Coast Road, Cushendall.

And on Saturday 18th June police received a report that the site of St. Aloysius High School had been entered. The padlock on the front door has been broken and boarding removed from two other doors. Nothing reported stolen.

Two arrested

ON the afternoon of Friday 17th June, two passengers of a vehicle were arrested on Moyarget Road near Ballycastle on suspicion of possession of Class B Drugs. The men, aged 22 years and 21 years, are both from the Ballycastle area. Both were released on police bail to June 28.

Disturbance

At approximately 3.20am on Saturday 18th June, police said they came upon an ongoing fight in the Diamond area of Ballycastle and their enquiries were continuing to establish the facts as all parties spoken to at the time were heavily intoxicated.
