Bus driver Diane scoops top award

FOR the second year in a row Ballyclare bus driver Diane McGrugan has won an award at the Irish Transport Trust Bus and Coach Rally.

The North Eastern Education and Library Board employee repeated her 2009 success to win the Reebur Trophy for best bus in the ‘Concours d’elegance’ section while her colleague Philip Rainey scored the highest points total in the driving section to win the Nicholson Memorial Trophy.

The education authority pair were assisted by navigators Lynsey Brown, Elaine Hine, Eric McBride and Jim McCaw at the rally held in North Down with representatives from the private hire, commercial and public service sectors competing for the honours.
