A huge range of events was planned and the entire weekend went off in splendid fashion!

Councillor McKillop, who is part of the Festival Committee, said: “As organisers of the Salmon and Whiskey Festival our aim was to firmly establish the festival in its second year by showcasing the famous local produce of Bushmills. I believe we have been successful in doing so and look forward to planning for next year’s festival.

“This was a festival for young and old, locals and tourists and for anyone with a passing interest in any of the events that had been organised over the course of the weekend. From the vintage tractor and band procession, jazz, Ulster-Scots and contemporary music, talks and exhibitions, children’s story telling and a marvellous firework display; there truly was something for everyone to enjoy.

“Bushmills is the gateway to the Causeway and we should be promoting the tourism potential of the town and do whatever we can to bring an economic boast during tough times.

“I want to thank all those who came along to support the event and the volunteers who helped in the planning and organisation of the events. I hope that everyone who came along to support the festival enjoyed themselves and that you will return next year.”
