Business community welcomes Big Bus

A CO-ORDINATED effort by the business community in Lisburn will result in the services of the Action Cancer Big Bus rolling into town for five days from 14-21st August.

The Big Bus service will offer local businesses and their staff free MOT health checks, consisting of cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI and lung capacity testing. In addition, breast screening is offered for females aged 40–49.

Leading the coordination of the Big Bus Service are Lisburn Enterprise Organisation and Lisburn Chamber of Commerce.

The current Chamber president Mr John Steen highlighted the importance of this free service for local businesses: “In the current challenging economic climate business owners and their employees are working hard, putting in extra hours and suffering the stresses and strains of everyday business pressures” he said.

“We welcome this free service from Action Cancer which reminds all of us to look after our health and be aware of the necessary lifestyle changes that entails. On behalf of the Lisburn Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank all those who have offered their business premises to host the Big Bus and I would encourage all individuals to visit the Action Cancer team.”

The Big Bus is located at the following sites for one day from 14-21st August; Glenwood Business Centre, Poleglass; Warmflow Engineering, Lissue Industrial Estate; Boomer Industries, Knockmore Hill Industrial Park; Derriaghy Industrial Estate, and Lisburn Enterprise Organisation, Ballinderry Road.
