Business gets
franchise award

A local business, established in Dromore and now relocated to nearby Hillsborough, has won the Best Emerging Franchise Category at the 2013 National Irish Franchise Awards in Dublin.

PuriFry Fryer Management Service provides services for filtration and cleaning of deep fat fryers at hotels and restaurants, thereby, the company says, improving cleanliness and health and safety, while reducing waste and caterers costs.

A delighted Carey Baxter, founder of PuriFry, picked up the award from John Perry TD, the Republic’s Minister for Small Business, and Bobby O Keefe of Fastway Couriers.

“As a young franchise it is fantastic to have won this award in recognition of the hard work by everyone involved in establishing and developing our business model across Ireland,” said Carey. “We look forward to further expansion of the network in Ireland, and the opportunity other areas such as Great Britain present.”

Established more than 20 years ago, the Ulster Bank Irish Franchise Association Awards recognise excellence in franchising and reward “the outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals in the franchise industry”.

David Killeen, Chairman of the Irish Franchise Association said: “The awards are an opportunity for us to formally recognise and celebrate the excellent work being done by all franchise operators in growing our sector, consolidating existing businesses and protecting sustainable jobs despite the difficult trading conditions we currently face.

“On behalf of the Association I would like to congratulate not just the finalists but all entrants and winners. Through the collective effort of all involved, we continue to drive improvements in standards and the understanding of best practice and ethical franchising in Ireland. I sincerely thank Ulster Bank for their continued association with this event and their ongoing support and commitment to our sector”
