Business Growth Event for local firms

A council led business growth programme is assisting local firms to supply the fast growing energy sector in the North East of Northern Ireland - and businesses can find out more at an information session in Moyle Council headquarters, Ballycastle on Wednesday 3rd September from 4-5pm.

The NE Sustainable Energy Supply Chain programme, supported by the six NE councils is designed to help local SMEs to get involved in renewable, oil and gas supply chains. The programme is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.

It is open to any business whether they are currently supplying goods and services to the energy sector or not and includes one-to-one mentoring to help businesses identify new opportunities and develop existing projects, in the renewable, oil and gas industries. The programme also includes Meet the Buyer events, networking opportunities, study visits and access to detailed research reports in the renewable, oil and gas energy sectors.

Moira Loughran, Invest NI’s North Eastern Regional Manager said: “Northern Ireland has been very active in renewable energy development and is a key area where Invest NI sees real economic opportunity. This programme is an opportunity for businesses in the North East to get access to advice and resources which will help them develop new skills to meet the needs of the fast changing world of renewable energy. I would encourage those businesses interested in supplier opportunities in this sector to come along to the Moyle event.”

Any company from Coleraine, Moyle, Larne, Antrim, Ballymena or Newtownabbey council areas can become involved in the programme for a one off fee of £100 + vat.
