Business is booming for schools in Banbridge

The Company Programme will see 16-18 year olds develop a total of nine start-ups across Dromore High School, Banbridge Academy, Banbridge High School, New Bridge Integrated College and St Patrick’s Academy, Banbridge.

The companies will develop marketable products or services and business plans under the guidance of Volunteer Business Advisers from local businesses.

The companies will then have the opportunity to sell their wares at specially organised Young Enterprise Trade Fairs across Northern Ireland.

Young Enterprise Chief Executive, Carol Fitzsimons commented: “The Company Programme is the ultimate enterprise experience.

“It gives young people the opportunity to develop the skills they will need for a successful future in education, employment and enterprise through a hands-on ‘learning by doing’ approach”

The programme runs until the end of the academic year in May where a panel of Northern Ireland’s top businesspeople will decide the Company of the Year to represent Northern Ireland in the UK wide finals held in London in June.
