Launching the ‘Invitation for Corporate Support’, Bro McFerran, Chairman of Corporate Leadership Team on behalf of Culture Company 2013 commented on the scale of the opportunity: “There are many benefits of being involved in the 2013 year of culture and the sponsorship strategy aims to create easy access for any organization to become part the year.

“The city has ambitious plans to bring additional revenue of over £100m to the city, lever some 1300 additional jobs, attract over 500,000 additional visitors, and will reach over 145million people globally with some of its events. Offering association with this success is something that the corporate sector should be both excited and proud.”

The sponsorship strategy, devised by Corporate Engagement Champion, Ryan Williams, with intrinsic support from a carefully selected 2013 Corporate Leadership Team offers opportunities for Lead Partner, Themed Lead/Champion (of a particular sector) or association with an event, community, venue or participant sponsor.

In addition there will be merchandising and licensing opportunities available across the programme. Getting off to a great start, the City has already agreed its first commercial City of Culture partnership with BT who have committed to a five year, multi-million pound investment and sponsorship support.

“City of Culture is set to be the most impressive and impactful event Northern Ireland has ever seen and I would encourage all businesses to get on board” explained Ryan.

“With the interest already shown from the Corporate Sector, we are confident the benefits for the business community will be both significant and lasting.

“Whether a company is looking for a short-term partnership for lead-up events in 2012, 2013 celebrations or a longer partnership over the legacy period of 2011-2015, the business case for any corporate involvement is, in short, exceptional,” he said.
