Businesses told to beat the freeze
NI Water and the Northern Ireland Independent Retail Association (NIIRTA) are co-operating to encourage small businesses to ‘Beat the Freeze’ should a bout of severe winter weather occur this year.
If small businesses are unable to function due to burst pipes, it will mean an indefinite closure to add on to the normal Christmas break.
The ‘Beat the Freeze’ message reinforces the call for owners to check that homes and businesses are prepared for the cold weather conditions. Glyn Roberts, Chief Executive of NIIRTA, commented: ‘‘ NIIRTA would join NI Water in encouraging businesses to take steps to ‘Beat the Freeze’ and protect internal water pipes and fittings.
