Busy period for police during Lammas Fair

THE police in Ballycastle were kept busy during the Lammas Fair period.

They had to deal with several incidents during August 29/30, the two days of the Fair.

August 29:- A ten foot metal gate was stolen from a field at Moyarget Road,

* A man was arrested for disorderly behaviour at Market Street, Ballycastle.

* A male was arrested for breach of bail and disorderly behaviour at Quay Road. He has subsequently been charged to court.

* An incident of harassment was being investigated following a complaint from a member of the public.

* A male is to be reported for disorderly behaviour following an incident at the Fair.

August 30:- A male was arrested for disorderly behaviour following an incident at Clare Street, Ballycastle.

* A male was arrested for disorderly behaviour and non payment of warrants.

* Three men were arrested and approximately 400 counterfeit CDs recovered from a stall at the Fair. Police have charged one man to court and enquires are ongoing.

* A laptop was stolen from a guest house at Quay Road.

* A number plate was stolen from a Mercedes car at the car park at the Marine Hotel.

* A female was arrested for non payment of a money warrant. She was subsequently taken to prison.

* A selection of puppets were stolen from a bike trailer at Fairhill Street.

* A male was arrested for possessing counterfeit currency at licensed premises at the Diamond, Ballycastle.

* Two females were assaulted by another female at Ann Street, Ballycastle during the Fair.

* An Iphone 4 was stolen from the vicinity of a car park on Coleraine Road, Ballycastle.
