Members responded to over thirty Call Outs and operations where they have searched for and rescued people and provided safety cover at walking festivals and events. One of the highlights of the year was the rescue of a seriously ill person from Cuilcagh Mountain Co. Fermanagh with the help of the Coast Guard Helicopter based at Sligo.

The team have thanked those who supported them financially, especially Sports NI and Fermanagh district council in 2011,

This year the team is making an appeal for more volunteers especially woman to come forward and train to provide an improved Mountain Rescue service across Northern Ireland.

Deputy Team Leader Pauline McGurk said: “Women already play an important role in Mountain Rescue it is not a ‘man only’ world. Women should take up the challenge and visit the Team website www.nwmrt.org and apply to join the Team.”
