Busy year in store for Magnet Women’s Group

WITH the arrival of 2013 Magnet Women’s Group would like to take this opportunity to wish all of their ladies a very happy New Year.

Now in their new venue of the Meeting Place in Poyntzpass, the group has more space, facilities and comfort.

December brought their annual bus trip to Dublin which was very successful and enjoyed by all who came along.

Near to Christmas came their annual party which was a real success. Ginty Anderson and her troop of Scottish dancers added the Highland fling to the party washed down by mulled wine and mince pies. Of course many a lady’s foot was in step with the proceedings as the ladies danced to the rhythm of the misty Highland tone.

Every Monday evening at 7.45pm the set dancing class provides a great opportunity for ladies. Learn new steps and at the same time enjoy the benefit of exercise so please do come along.

Beginning on Wednesday, January 16, at 7.30pm and every Wednesday thereafter the floral art class take place. Priced at £5 per class, The classes are hosted by Moira Cairns.

From simple table dressing to church or wedding presentations in floral art, come along and broaden your craft horizons.

Rice’s Hotel in Poyntzpass on the first Friday of February at 7.30pm will be the venue for the ladies dinner. Live music will be provided by Paddy Barry and Son and this performance will be a real treat to enjoy, as will the great food. To book call Eleanor on 028 3883 1493.

Ruby Hamilton gives a talk on the Blytheswood Charity on February 12 and everyone is very welcome. The rest is up to you ladies - get up, take part, make new friends, do new things and make 2013 a great year for all.
