Councillor Terry Clements, chair of Carrick Council’s Heritage and Marketing sub committee, said: “Our exhibition programme this year has been our busiest to date as we mark 100 years since the outbreak of World War One with a series of exhibitions, lectures, workshops and special events.

“We are delighted however that we have still been able to support our local artists by offering them top quality facilities to showcase their works.”

Meanwhile, the WW1 centenary exhibition programme will continue with the Mid Antrim Museum & Causeway Museum Service’s ‘Across the Hawthorn Hedge - The Noise of Bugles’.

This will explore, through heritage sites, artefacts of the period, and engagement with local communities, the impact and legacy of the outbreak of the First World War, the Battle of the Somme and the Easter Rising in the Mid and East Antrim and Causeway areas.
