Butler plea for more war memorials
UUP Councillor Robbie Butler has called on the community to remember the region’s fallen from the world wars and other conflicts by using commemorations to unveil a series of new war memorials.
Councillor Butler made his appeal as he also “warmly welcomed” the official unveiling of a War Memorial in Maghaberry village park.
Councillor Butler said after attending the unveiling ceremony that the memorial would “be a fitting and lasting tribute to those from the village who had fought and given their lives so future generations could enjoy the luxuries of modern democracy and freedom”.
