By stove! Charity fundraiser Donald steams into town!

A CHARITY fundraiser will be visiting Cookstown and Magherafelt on Friday during his whistle stop tour of the Province carrying a stove as a backpack.

Donald Roe who works at Portadown Fireplaces is hitchhiking around Northern Ireland with a fully functional stove in a bid to raise money for two charities, the Children’s Hospice and Cash For Kids.

And people in both towns are invited to ‘Follow The Flame’ and give generously for the two good causes when they see Donald passing through on Friday.

Donald enjoyed a hero’s send off from Portadown Fireplaces on Monday (May 21) and he has since travelled through Armagh, Newry, Warrenpoint, Kilkeel and Newcastle. He will be visiting Cookstown and Magherafelt on Friday before the mammoth walk ends in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter.

Donald, who has been inspired by author Tony Hawks who famously walked around Ireland with a fridge on his back, has been in training for many weeks to enable him to master the art of carrying a weighty 4kg stove on his back.

You can visit Donald Roe’s Facebook page where you can donate through the Just Giving link or simply text fire12 followed by the amount you wish to donate to 70070.
