Cadets help heroes

TEENAGE Cadets from Londonderry have been helping to raise much-needed funds for the Help For Heroes charity.

Ten Cadets and four Adult Instructors from 1st (Northern Ireland) Battalion Army Cadet Force, B Company brought their climbing tower to the recent Ulster Military Vehicle Club show in Portstewart for ‘have a go sessions’.

The venture raised more than 300 for the charity – as well as raising interest in the Cadet movement which this year celebrates its 150th anniversary under the theme ‘Cadet150: Live The Adventure’.

Among those taking part were Cadet Holly Bond (14) from Londonderry, Cadet Lance Corporal Linda McGlinchey (14) from Londonderry and Cadet Rebakah Mahon (13) from Eglinton.
