Call for filter lane in village

Councillor Phil Moutray said: “Over the past number of weeks I have been contacted by residents of Magheralin and the surrounding areas regarding the traffic congestion on the New Forge 
Road.

“Cars wanting to turn left in the direction for Lurgan are unnecessarily kept waiting by those turning right.

“This is a particular problem at school times when a large volume of cars are using this road.

“I believe that if Roads Service installed a simple filter lane it would go some way to alleviate the 
problem.

“I have written to the DRD Minister on this matter and believe over the summer months would be a 
good time to act on the issue, and have it resolved for 
the incoming school 
year.”
