Call for 'positive change'

SANDRA Overend, Conservatives & Unionists Candidate for Mid-Ulster has assured the Mid-Ulster people that only a vote for the Conservatives & Unionists on Thursday, 6th May will be a vote for a positive change in politics and a real voice at Westminster.

“Mid-Ulster needs an MP who is vocal at Westminster, grounded in the local issues, but with a broader vision for a better future.

“Conservatives and Unionists provides your only opportunity to bring Northern Ireland, from the window-ledge, into the heart of the Union, with the chance to form the next government of the United Kingdom.

“Others are only minority parties who can lobby the government but the Conservatives & Unionists can form the Government and can actually make policy relating to tax, the economy, pension, benefits and fuel duty. Northern Ireland needs MPs who can be part of the UK mainstream.

“My desire is to make positive change to the everyday lives of the people of Mid-Ulster, reshaping politics in Northern Ireland to focus on the economy, health education and roads, but also where we have confidence in ourselves and live free from fear or threat. While I have been knocking the doors across Mid-Ulster these are the issues that matter to people, and they want to vote for someone who they can trust and who will be at the heart of government where there is real influence.

“I am providing a fresh public face to the electorate, a new face in politics, but I can assure the people of Mid-Ulster that I am not fresh into politics and have been heavily involved with the Ulster Unionist Party all my adult life.

“I share the same commitment and enthusiasm for the future of Northern Ireland as my father, Assembly Member, Billy Armstrong MLA, and have twelve years experience working for him, managing the office and dealing with constituency issues. Therefore I have a good grounding on the issues that matter to the people of Mid-Ulster.
