Sinn Féin Councillor Fergal Lennon has said the statutory agencies must ensure equality of service for rural dwellers.

Cllr Lennon’s comments come after he wrote to Transport NI regarding ‘the increasingly dangerous situation at Derrytasna Road and Ardmore Road’.

Cllr Lennon said, “The seriously deteriorating condition of these roads is a cause of great concern to local residents, local motorists and cyclists and to myself as a local elected representative. ”

He continued, “I have contacted Transport NI to enquire when necessary road resurfacing will occur.”

“Rural dwellers and communities must be treated with equality.

“That means that services, and when necessary repairs, must be carried out within a reasonable time frame.”

Mr Lennon said, “I would call on Transport NI to ensure that this stretch of road is fully repaired as soon as possible before any damage or injury is caused by the condition of the road.”
