Call to support appeal

CRAIGAVON councillors have called upon people of the borough to offer their prayers and support to the people of Haiti.

As the council cannot be in reception of donations themselves, people have been encouraged to give what they can to local churches who are offering support to earthquake victims

At Monday’s meeting Mayor Meta Crozier said: “As we watched the television over the weekend and saw the absolute havoc that the earthquake has caused I would ask you to please remember the families in prayer.”

SDLP man Michael McGoldrick added: “The devastation is beyond our understanding of what devastation is. I would ask that people of the borough to give as much as they can to local churches.”
