Calling all crafty kids - Halloween craft workshop at Cloonavin!

COLERAINE Borough Council is offering children with a creative streak the chance to make their own spooky Halloween costume, at a special fancy dress craft workshop on Friday, October 29th at Cloonavin.

Using clothing kindly donated by Cookstown Textile Recyclers, and thanks to funding from the Department of the Environment’s Rethink Waste campaign initiative, the costume workshop is being offered free to 15 Primary six and seven pupils in the Borough.

Booking is on a first-come-first served basis.

Creative talent and Craft Tutor, Sue Taylor, will be working with the children to help each one make a unique, individually designed and handmade Halloween costume to take home for the big night on the 31st of October.

Fiona Watters, Waste and Recycling Officer at Coleraine Borough Council is excited about the prospect of making her own Halloween outfit this year out of recycled material.

“The aim of the workshop is for children to have fun, be creative and make a Halloween costume from unwanted clothes. I want people to think differently about waste, and hope this is one way to encourage children and their families to think about buying clothes from our local charity shops, “ said Fiona.
