Calling all fashionistas!

A LOCAL group want to take you back to the 1950’s...in a bid to raise money for charity.

The Causeway Coast Vineyard are organising a ‘Handbags and Gladrags’ fashion event on Saturday, May 28 in Coleraine.

‘Handbags and Gladrags’ is the 21st century’s answer to the humble jumble sale, raising money for CCV Compassion Ministries and Engage HIV.

Gone are the traditional unwanted Christmas jumpers, musty second hand clothes. Instead shoppers can feast on stylish fashion.

As well as fashion, there will be delicious treats, including a 1950’s style soda fountain, and plenty of pampering to soothe your soul and lift your spirits.

This event will take place at the Casueway Coast Vineyard (the old Dunnes building) from 12noon to 2pm; 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm. Fresh fashion picks will be on sale during each slot.

Tickets for the event cost £4, and are available during Sunday services or online at www.handbagsandgladrags.org - a 50p handling fee is charged for online bookings and you will need to print your booking confirmation and bring it with you for entry.

Tori Sheppard, Director of Women’s Ministries at Causeway Coast Vineyard, is looking forward to the event, she said: “Handbags and Gladrags is back by overwhelming demand and this year it’ll be bigger, better and more beautiful than ever.

“ It’s the perfect excuse to clear out your wardrobe and donate all those items you don’t wear that someone else might breathe new life into - and then come along to shop until you drop, and feel no guilt at being pampered and spoiled by the stunning atmosphere and heart of the women at CCV that are going all-out to treat the women in our community.”
