Calling all tractor lovers

TRACTOR enthusiasts from Glenarm are calling on all tractor lovers in Northern Ireland to join their ‘Tractor Road Run’ in aid of local health charity NI Chest Heart and Stroke on Saturday, April 14.

The 25 mile ‘Tractor Run’ will range over country roads, farmers lanes and private land around the scenic Glenarm area in County Antrim.

Stephen Robinson, Member of the organising committee said: “The Tractor Run is great crack and a chance to see some great old tractors, it realty does take you back.

“We are also very pleased to be supporting the NI Chest Heart & Stroke, they are a great charity helping people following a stroke or heart attack and we all know some family member who has been affected by these illnesses.

“So came along and take part or just make a donation to this worthwhile charity.”

The Tractor Run costs £10 and starts at 11am on the April 14, with registration beginning at 9am, entry fee includes refreshments and lunch by Marty’s Catering.

The rally point is 36 Drumcrow Road, Glenarm, Ballymena and will follow a 25 mile route, stopping half way at 102 Drumnagreagh Road, Ballygally, Larne for lunch.

The half-way lunch stop of the ‘Tractor Run’ will also be a chance to see Stephen Robinson’ s collection of Nuffield and Leyland tractors.

Valerie Saunders, NICHS Fundraising Co-ordinator said: “The tractor run is a great way to support our work and I would like to thank the organising committee for their support. 20 people a day in Northern Ireland die from a chest, heart and stroke illness.

“As a local charity all money raised will be used to support our local services such as cardiac, stroke and respiratory support groups across Antrim and Northern Ireland, as well as Stroke Family Liaison teams who help local families to live with life after a stroke.”
