Calling allcommunity film fans - the Roe needs you!

THE Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre/Ionad Ealaíon agus Cultúir Ghleann na Ró has joined forces with the recently formed Roe Valley Community Film Society to celebrate the art of film and the moving image through a series of monthly film screenings at the Arts Centre.

Kicking offf with the splendid An Education on Tuesday 25 January at 7.30pm, the screenings are free to the public and will encourage support for the fledgling community film society.

An Education is a coming of age story about a teenage girl in 1960s London whose relationship with an older man challenges her views on education, family and much more. Starring Carey Mulligan, who was nominated for an Oscar for this role in 2009 and subsequently was awarded Best Actress at the BAFTAS, this is a quirky and humorous tale of aspirational suburban life.
