Cambridge Close residents celebrate active ageing

RESIDENTS at Clanmil Housing’s Cambridge Close independent living scheme have kick-started healthier lifestyles with an armchair aerobics session.

The session was part of International Active Ageing Week, an annual event promoting the benefits of staying active throughout life by helping older people try out activities in a safe, friendly and fun way.

“At Clanmil we encourage our tenants to continue to lead active lives as they grow older and we are delighted that tenants at Cambridge Close are so enthusiastic about keeping fit and healthy,” said Colette Moore, Director of Housing at Clanmil.

“Activities and interests such as this help keep both body and mind active and also bring tenants together to enjoy each other’s company.”

Clanmil Housing is a leading provider of housing for older people in Northern Ireland. It promotes positive ageing, encouraging tenants to stay active to the benefit of their physical and mental health.

At Cambridge Close, which provides six houses and 17 self-contained bungalows for people aged 60 plus, tenants can take part in regular social events and a weekly lunch club as well as the armchair aerobics sessions.
