Cameron continues winnning ways at Castlewellan Show

RATHFRILAND Young Farmer, Cameron Magowan, continued with his winning ways at Castlewellan Show at the weekend adding more silverware to the family trophy cabinet.

Just one week afterbeing named European Angus Young Handler of the Year in the Society’s inaugural Young Handlers’ event held in Gilford,

Cameron took charge of the family bull, Bannside Jacko, to lift the Bannside Cup and the Reserve Champion title in the European Angus classes at the popular County Down Agricultural Show. And he wasn’t the only winner from the Magowan household on the day.

The Magowan family also came out top in the cow, any age, in calf or with calf at foot class in the European Angus section at the Show. Cameron’s father, Andrew and sister, Clare doing the honours with Kiltariff Lady Jemima and calf.

Gilford Young Handler, Cathy McGaffin, also enjoyed success on the day as she took charge of David Lester’s young heifer, Augnagergan Erica, which was named overall champion and winner of the Tughan Cup in the European Angus classes at the Show.
