Campbell fumes as May end to Ardlough works proves a pipe dream

East Londonderry MP Gregory Campbell has called on Transport NI to ensure the ongoing closure of Ardlough Road between Drumahoe and Maydown is concluded as quickly as possible.

“This road is used by locals but is also often used by commuter traffic to avoid the main arterial routes in the Waterside when moving either in the Limavady direction from the Glenshane Road or vice versa.

“Gas pipe laying by a contractor, since that time motorists have become accustomed to the signage at either entrance indicating that it would be concluded by May, it now appears after I made inquiries on behalf of a number of people that this is to continue until the end of June.

“To have a road like the Ardlough Road which is essential to locals and commuters alike, out of action for over four months is unacceptable, both Transport NI and the contractor need to take action now to bring the delayed re-opening to an end.”
