Campbell pleased with Coaker visit

EAST Londonderry MP, Gregory Campbell, said he was delighted that Shadow Secretary of State, Vernon Coaker MP, recently took time to visit Coleraine.

Mr Campbell said: “I was pleased that the Government’s Opposition spokesperson on Northern Ireland, Labour Party’s Vernon Coaker MP was able to accept my invitation to come to Coleraine where he met those involved in the voluntary and community sector at Coleraine Rural and Urban Network(CRUN) as well as those involved in the private sector at food distribution business, Lynas Foodserve.

At CRUN, Mr Coaker met staff and members of the Management Board and heard how they support a wide range of community and voluntary groups in the Coleraine area and of their plans for a new Community Building to bring the providers of support and advice together at one location.

At Lynas Foodserve Mr Coaker heard how the company has developed and expanded as a business over a long number of years supplying frozen and fresh food to the food service trade both in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Mr Campbell added: “I am keen to support similar future visits to community and voluntary sector groups and private sector businesses, and help with any initiative or project which they think may be able to assist further.”
