Campbell: Raise tax thresholds
DUP MP Gregory Campbell says the best way of dealing with the scourge of low pay is by raising the minimum wage and income tax thresholds.
Speaking at Westminster, he put it to Labour MP Chuka Umunna: “Does he not agree that a combination of raising the minimum wage, which he has alluded to, and raising the thresholds at which people begin to pay tax is the answer, so that the people earning £200 or £250 a week retain all of that as their take-home pay?”
